The deadline to make donations to the Puerto Rico Agricultural Relief Fund has been extended to April 15, to allow farmers more time to apply for funding, and to allow more time for people and organizations to donate. The Puerto Rico Farm Bureau, in cooperation with Texas Farm Bureau, established the fund to help address the agricultural losses inflicted this past September by Hurricane Maria. The hurricane hit Puerto Rico head-on, devastating as much as 80 percent of the island’s farm production. All of the collected funds will go directly to farmers in Puerto Rico.
Utah Farm Bureau members at the FUSION Conference in January donated to the cause, along with matches by the State Farm Bureau and Western AgCredit, to provide a donation of more than $4,500! But individuals can continue to donate, until April 15. Learn more and make your tax-deductible donation at https://www.fb.org/news/puerto-rico-farm-bureau-agricultural-relief-fund.
