Select members of the Utah legislature and key interest groups and stakeholders are currently meeting to surface tools that can better help water right holders, water companies, municipalities and others in retaining and developing water sources. Because Utah is the second driest state in country, and Utah is one of the fastest growing states in the country with a strong economic activity, maximizing our water use is important. These tools and perhaps others are believed to be influential in helping to meet the future water demands both in urban and rural Utah. Utah Farm Bureau policy currently supports many of these tools with certain conditions.
