The 3rd Biennial Soil Health in the West Conference will be held on February 10-12th, 2026 in St. George, Utah! The agriculture conference focuses on implementing and studying soil-health practices in the Mountain West region. As the only soil health conference in Utah and its surrounding states, SHWC 2026 will bring experts from across the country to discuss topics in crop farming, grazing, water management, new techniques and strategies, and more.

The conference will consist of a day of workshops on February 10th, and the main conference on February 11-12th.

In 2024, we focused on grazing management with supplementary tracks on crop production, and this year we are doing the reverse: we're hosting expert speakers on soil health-focused crop production, with a robust supplementary track for grazing topics.

The 2026 Conference is bringing 28 speakers from many different fields to present sessions and share data and experience with our attendees! 2026 session topics include:

  • No-till farming
  • Nutrient & chemical management
  • Feed crop & grazing integration
  • Orchard & vegetable cropping
  • Water management
  • Indigenous land stewardship
  • Livestock strategies

For travel purposes, the conference will run approximately 8:30AM-4:30PM at the Dixie Convention Center all three days, with the exception of the Farm Dinner on the 11th.

The USHP is proud to announce that our keynote speakers in 2026 will be Jay Fuhrer and Rick Clark! Jay and Rick are both highly respected voices in the American soil health movement and have done exceptional work to develop regenerative practices and educate producers across the country.

The Beginner and Advanced Soil Health Workshop will each be 1 full day of sessions & exercises with a limited group and interaction with experts. Ticketing for each workshop is limited.

The Beginner Workshop will be led by keynote Jay Fuhrer (Menoken Research Farm), Utah soil health voice Tony Richards (Utah Agricultural Water Optimization Program), and specialists from UDAF and the NRCS. Attendees will learn the cornerstone principles of soil health, practice assessing fields and identifying common issues, and learn strategies for how to begin introducing soil health practices into their work.

The Advanced Workshop will be led by keynote Rick Clark (Farm Green), Dr. Patrick Freeze (Ward Laboratories), Ken Hamilton (Biomineral Technologies), and Dr. Brett Reed (Redox Bio-Nutrients). Participants will study in-depth how to use soil nutrient testing, factors in plant & soil nutrition, and how to use these tools to make management decisions and strategize on their land.

If you are a student who would like to attend the workshops, please reach out to kdavis@uacd.org about student ticketing.

Attend the two full days of the conference on February 11th & 12th, or add on a hands-on workshop day on the 10th, whether you are new to soil health or looking for more advanced education. Plus, grab a ticket to the special SHWC Farm Dinner, with the opportunity to eat, network, and hear from both our keynote speakers in a closer setting.
