SANDY, Utah – Members from Utah’s 28 County Farm Bureaus met recently in Provo to select leaders for the state’s largest farming and ranching organization. Delegates elected Davis County farmer Tyson Roberts as Vice President of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation (UFBF).

“I am humbled at the opportunity to serve this great organization and help lead our industry. I look forward to representing our members to keep agriculture and the Farm Bureau strong,” Roberts said. “Farm Bureau is strong in advocating for agriculture everywhere because it is a true grassroots organization. We advocate not simply what a board wants, but more importantly, what is best for farmers and ranchers across the state.”

Roberts is a 6th generation farmer in Layton, Utah. Tyson and his wife Danna have six children who each help on the farm. Partnering with his parents Dix and Ruth, they operate Roberts Family Farms which produces fresh market vegetables that are sold on the farm and at farmers markets in Utah and Southwestern Wyoming. Roberts had previously been serving on the Utah Board of Directors, for District 3.

Replacing Roberts for the remainder of his term for District 3 (Davis, Salt Lake, and Tooele Counties) is JaNae Titmus, a sheep rancher from Tooele County. Also elected to the UFBF Board of Directors was Cody Wilkins, a rancher from Uintah County, who replaced the retiring Steve Hanberg. Chris Chambers, a rancher from Smithfield, Cache County, and Jared Buhler, a farmer and rancher from Millard County, were re-elected to the UFBF Board of Directors, for Districts 1 and 7 respectively.

Nancy Harris of Sevier County was elected to the State Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, as Vice Chair. Jill Singleton of Morgan County and Hollie Henrie (Garfield County) were elected to the State Women’s Committee, representing Districts 2 (Morgan, Summit, and Weber counties) and District 6 (Sevier, Sanpete, Garfield, Piute, and Wayne Counties) respectively. Also re-elected was Sara Harward of Utah County for District 4 (Juab, Utah and Wasatch Counties).

Newly elected to the Utah Farm Bureau Promotions & Education (P&E) Committee for a two-year term was Dustin Cox of Kane County, who was elected chair and also has a seat on the UFBF Board of Directors. Others elected to the Committee were Ray and Mandy Smalley of Weber County (Dist. 2), Darann Smith of Utah County (Dist. 4), and Kortnie Carlisle of Sevier County (Dist. 6). Previous Committee Chair Sherrie Tate of Washington County was selected to fill Dustin Cox’s remaining year on the committee for District 7.

Clayton & Dakota Rindlisbacher of Juab County were elected as the new Vice chairs for the state Young Farmer & Rancher Committee (YF&R). Two new couples were elected to serve on the State YF&R Committee, including Tarah & Jono Holt of Weber County for District 2, and Tony & Makell Pay of Juab County for District 4.

Voting delegates also addressed a wide range of policy issues including positions on water, raw milk, lab grown meat, public land management, and more.
