Utah Farm Bureau Visits Salt Lake Radio Stations to Talk Ag Water Use, Alfalfa

After a series of editorials critical of ag water use, and the growing of alfalfa specifically, the Utah Farm Bureau felt it critical to expand the narrative and share additional perspectives on water and how we all need to work together to solves this very Utah problem. Utah Farm Bureau President Ron Gibson appeared on radio programs with KSL NewsRadio with Boyd Matheson and KNRS Radio with Rod Arquette. You can listen to each segment below:
Rather than throwing stones, Utah Farm Bureau sees the need to provide tools to help farmers & ranchers continue on their longterm goal of wise water use. One example of this are the Ag Optimization Grants administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture & Food. The 2019 round of grants has resulted in a savings of approximately 7 billion gallon of water saved, and the recently completed 2021 round estimates to save an additional 4 billion gallons.
