Hello Utah Farm Bureau members!
Well, as we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving and the other holidays soon, we are in the thick of things here at the Utah Farm Bureau. We are getting ready for our convention, finalizing policy proposals from our County Farm Bureaus that came from individual farmers and ranchers in our state. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to go to your county meetings, being involved, and taking advantage of the opportunities available to us.
I have had the opportunity to go to meetings throughout our state, from my home in Cache County to further away places like Cedar City and Vernal, and I’ve come away impressed with the commitment of our members and the resiliency they show in overcoming challenges. I know that as farmers and ranchers, great things can happen as we rally together to support our industry and way of life.
Discussions at meetings have centered around statewide issues like RFID tags for livestock, raw milk regulation, energy development, water, and more, while also hitting on local issues farmers are facing. I want to encourage you to stay involved. Keep the conversations going. Get involved – especially when it comes to water meetings – as ag needs to be present in order to make our voice heard. I encourage you to come to our upcoming Farm Bureau convention (Nov. 20-22 in Provo), especially if you’ve never been before. We’d love to have you there and see how we can all work together to keep agriculture thriving.
Thank you for all you do, and for your membership in the Utah Farm Bureau!
