Daisy Oatmeal Cake

1 1/4 C. boiling water
1 C. oatmeal
1/2 C margarine
1 C. sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp.cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
1 1/2 C. flour
Pour water over oatmeal; cover and let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together margarine and sugars; blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oatmeal and remaining ingredients. Pour into a 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes.
Frosting:
1/4 C. melted margarine
1/2 C. brown sugar
2 tbsp. half & half
1/3 C. chopped walnuts
3/4 C. coconut
Spread frosting over cake and put under broiler until bubbly.
