Record Production, Higher Prices Anticipated for Most Livestock

The Agriculture Department is expecting record production in nearly all livestock categories in 2020. AFBF Chief Economist explained more in Tuesday’s Newsline.
“Dairy production is expected at 222 billion pounds, but we will see higher milk prices, higher pork prices and higher cattle prices,” Newton said. Farm gate prices for broiler chickens are likely to be lower, with higher prices for eggs and turkey.
