4 C. lettuce, broken into bite-sized pieces
1 C. chopped celery
1/2 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. chopped green pepper
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed
2 C. mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
1 C. grated mild cheese
6 strips bacon, fried and crumbled
Place lettuce in a large serving bowl. Layer celery, onion, green pepper, then peas on top of lettuce. Combine mayonnaise, salt, sugar, and pepper, then spread over top. Sprinkle grated cheese over top. Top with crumbled bacon. Cover tightly and refrigerate 8 hours until dressing has filtered through.
