The following statements may be attributed to American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall, and Utah Farm Bureau Federation President Ron Gibson on passage of Disaster Relief:
“The disaster relief measure signed by President Trump today is an important lifeline for farmers and ranchers whose greatest desire is to keep producing the food, fuel and fiber that make our way of life possible. The last two years have brought historic hurricanes like Florence and Michael. We have faced wildfires, tornadoes and flooding that has led to the worst planting season on record for many commodities. Many farmers have faced near-complete losses, and this measure will help us weather the storm. Americans have always come together in times of need to help lift our neighbors and support our communities. We thank Congress and the President for delivering this much-needed assistance for American agriculture.”
"It is good to see Congress and the President come together to pass this much needed relief for the many farmers and ranchers in our country that have been especially hard by weather-related disasters this year," said Ron Gibson, president of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation. "It has been devastating to see farmers hit by storms and disasters throughout the country. While no one knows how unpredictable weather can be than farmers and ranchers, it's nice to see that our country has agriculture's back to ensure we're able to keep producing the food we need."
